Ernie was the devoted husband of Jean M. Peoples. He served in the Seabees unit of the U.S. Navy for 2 years, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and San Diego, California. Ernie graduated from P.S. duPont High School in 1950. Ernie and his father, Ernest Sr., purchased Harry S. Lynch Construction Company in 1956. Ernie received an associate's degree in architecture from Temple University in 1957. Ernie retired in 1979. He also served on the board of directors at Ninth Ward Savings and Loan for more than 3 decades. Ernie's hobbies included fishing, traveling, carpentry and spending time with his family, and he also enjoyed carving his decoy ducks. Ernie's favorite place on earth was his log cabin on Collins Pond in Sussex County Delaware, where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with all of his immediate and extended family. Ernie especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. Ernie was survived by his wife of 49 years, 2 sons, 2 grandchildren, and sisters Jean P. Milano of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Phyllis P. Olafsen of Center Sandwich, New Hampshire .
