Mr. Tom H. Stream, 70, of Dickerson died Monday, June 17, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville. He was the husband of Margie Tubbe Stream.
Born in Dickerson, July 10, 1920, he was a son of the late Paul H. and Sarah Catherine Taylor Stream.
Mr. Stream was a veteran of World War II and was employed as a painter for the AFL Union of Washington, D.C. He then began work for Montgomery County public schools in Rockville where he retired after 30 years of service.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, E. Darlene Umberger of Ijamsville; four brothers, Ralph Stream of Ijamsville, Robert L. Stream of Middletown, and George Stream and John Stream, both of Point of Rocks; four sisters, Mabel Moxley of Frederick, Martha Cline of Walkersville, Elizabeth Baugher of Woodsboro and Evelyn Burton of Tennessee; four grandchildren, David F. Stream Jr., Angela Stream Cooling, Stacey Umberger and Michael Umberger; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Curtis Stream; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stream was preceded in death by a son, David F. Stream Sr., in 1983; a brother, Paul Stream, in 1989; and two sisters, Ruth Grimes and Mary Cline.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Hilton Funeral Home 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Barnesville Baptist Church, Barnesville. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom Stream's name may be made to Barnesville Baptist Church 22331 Old Hundred Road, Barnesville, Md. 20838 or Montgomery Hospice Society, 6701 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase, Md. 20815.
