Darryl Lamont Wilson, 47, of Sandusky, met his appointment with the Lord late Tuesday evening, Jan. 29, 2013, in University Hospital, Cleveland.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1965, the youngest son of Hershel and Lillie Wilson.

He was employed by Akil Industries of Sandusky for seven years before the plant closed. Afterward, he supported the Community Action Center through various positions. Community minded, Darryl also volunteered his time to the Boys and Girls Club of America in Sandusky.

Darryl was a loving and caring son and brother. He was a proud father and grandfather who had a passion for spending time with his two beautiful daughters and granddaughter. He had a long, endearing relationship with Mary Sanders and her children, Kyle and Bridget Sanders.

He obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ at an early age, and enjoyed singing and hearing the word of God. Darryl truly believed the gospel message in his heart, and made peace with his life and his Creator.

His favorite pastimes were playing board games, especially Monopoly, with his family, and card games with his friends.

Darryl leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lillie M. Wilson, of Sandusky; daughters, Andrea and Danielle Wilson both of Newark, N.J.; brothers, Melvin (Angela) Wilson of Sandusky, Michael (Arnetta) Wilson of Laurel, Md., and Vincent (Rayleen) Wilson of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Devetea Wilson of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Kalies Nurkett; five nephews; one niece; and a host of loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at East Parish Street Church of Christ, 1219 E. Parish St., Sandusky. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., Brother Jeffrey Sherman will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
