Dorothy Mae Bedard, 63, passed away Feb. 3, 2013 at her residence, with the love and support of her family by her side. She was born Sept. 12, 1949 to Arthur and Geneva Barton, in Lyons. She worked in collections until she retired in 2009. She attended Corner Stone Baptist Church, Hutchinson.
On June 19th, 1968, she married her best friend, James Ray Bedard, of Hutchinson, who survives.
Other survivors include 2 daughters, Jamie Warren and husband Earl and Jennifer Currie and husband Josh, all of Hutchinson, one son, James Bedard and wife Jennifer, Hutchinson, a sister, Janice Zrubek, Salina, 3 brothers, Rick Barton, Great Bend, Fred Barton, Hays, and Roy Barton, New York, and 8 grandchildren, Austin, Gage, Jaden, Jayli, Cameron, Natalie, Izabella, & baby Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and 2 brothers.
Dorothy was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at Corner Stone Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Larry Wedel presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, Visitation will be held from 1-9PM Tuesday and 9AM to 9PM Wednesday, with the family present from 6-8PM Wednesday, all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family, with designation to be decided at a later date.
