Thomas Lawrence Eyre, also known as T. Lawrence Eyre, was born to David Wilson Eyre and Mary Phipps Swayne. He married Mary (Mamie) E. Smith in 1889, and together they had a son Wallace Delamater Eyre in 1890. Eyre was a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1917-1922 where he was known as "Uncle Larry".
