…On 19 April SW3 Kenneth M. Hatcher, of Team 03-19 near Xuan Loc, Long Khanh Province, died of burns and injuries suffered in an airplane crash the day before. The cause of the crash of the light observation plane was still under investigation at month's end. Remains were taken to the to the Tan Son Nhut Morgue for further transfer to CONUS.

On 19 April 1971, Steelworker Third Class Kenneth Marvin Hatcher was serving with Team 0319, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, 3rd Naval Construction Brigade, U.S. Navy Forces Vietnam, in Long Khanh Province, South Vietnam.
On that day, SW3 Hatcher was killed in the crash of the fixed wing aircraft in which he was a non-crew passenger. His body was recovered.
