Adeline J. Henricks, age 95 of Austin, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Sacred Heart Care Center, Austin.

Adeline Julianne Thompson was born February 16, 1917 to Astor and Johanna (Aldahl) Thompson in Freeborn County. She attended Freeborn County schools and graduated from Adams High School in 1935. Upon graduating from high school Adeline was awarded a college scholarship in Minneapolis; however, circumstances prevented her from using it. She graduated from Teacher's Normal College and taught in country schools. On July 16, 1939 Adeline married Harry "Al" Henricks at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After Al completed his service in the Army, Adeline and Al moved to Austin where they lived the remainder of their lives. Harry passed away on June 26, 1989. Adeline was a very humble and down to earth person. She was very loving and caring and had a special bond with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Jim (Verle) Henricks, Dubuque, Iowa, Bruce (Christine) Henricks, Austin, daughters, Jean (Bryan) Baudler, Austin, Sharon (Tom) Sachs, Alexandria, Virginia, Marianne (predeceased by Stan) Wayne, Albert Lea, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, sister, Ory Ann Champlin, Blooming Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Astor and Johanna Thompson, husband, Harry, son-in-law, Stan Wayne, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Bill Odermann officiating. Friends may call at the Worlein Funeral Home of Austin from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Red Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Austin.

The family prefers memorials to St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Sacred Heart Care Center, St. Marks Lutheran Home.
