Charlie Blackshear, Rt. 2, Honey Grove, died Tuesday, June 1, 1982, at Parkview Nursing Home.
Services will be held Thursday, June 3, at 4 p.m. in Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Tigertown Cemetery.
Mr. Blackshear was born December 4, 1882, in Tennessee, a son of Tom and Betty Curtis Blackshear. He was married to Maggie Jackson in 1919 in Arkansas. She died August 1, 1976. He was a member of Cottonwood Church of God.
Surviving are nine sons, Earnest Blackshear of Bend, Oregon, C. M. Blackshear of Sherman, Robert Blackshear of Gainesville, Curtis Blackshear of Honey Grove, Junior Blackshear of Tigertown, the Rev. Joe Blackshear of Paris, Rex Blackshear of Hopewell, Wayne Blackshear of Benbrook and Paul Blackshear of Tigertown: four daughters, Miss Lily Blackshear of Oklahoma City, Gladys Porter of Redmond, Oregon, Earnestine Hindman of Hopewell and Wanza Kilpatrick of Paris; three sisters, Mary Murley of Leonard, Minnie Pickard of Campbell and Josie Haskins of Greenville; 42 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 8 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
