OBITUARY

Mr. David Porter Adams:

Mr. David Porter Adams of Rimbey passed away in the Rimbey General Hospital on May 27, 1971 at the age of 87 years.

The late Mr. Adams was born on Dec. 9, 1883 in Mecosta, Michigan, In 1895 he moved with his parents to Lacombe and
worked in saw mills. In 1906 he was united in marriage to the late Minnie Lund and in 1913 he homesteaded in the
Rimbey district where he has resided until his passing. He was a life member of the Hereford Association. In 1966 they
celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.

Predeceased by his wife Minnie in 1966 and two sons, John in 1960 and Walter in 1966, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. N. (Allie) Morris of Bentley, Mrs. I. (Mildred) Riley of Lacombe and Mrs. H. (Beatrice) Gilesbrecht of Calgary; two sons, Ivan of rocky Mountain House, and Pat of Edmonton; 21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; also two brothers, Frank of Rimbey and Chum of Rocky Mountain House; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Nelson of Winfield and Mrs. Maggie VanHumbach of Campbell River, B.C.

Funeral services for the late Mr. David Porter Adams of Rimbey were held on Monday, May 31, 1971 at 2:00 p.m. from
the Rimbey United Church, with the Reverend Jerry DeVries of Rimbey and Reverend Al Skinner of Calgary officiating.
Interment followed in the Rimbey Mount Auburn Cemetery.

If desired donations may be made to the Rimbey United Church Memorial Fund.
