Rescuers with a helicopter were unable to save him and his three comrades. Until January, 2005, he was listed as POW/MIA. It was then that an unearthed tooth was compared with dental records. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in the Spring, 2005. For further details see article in Poughkeepsie (NY) Journal 11 February 2005.
