LINCOLNTON ~ Myrtle Woody Mitchell, 84, died Feb. 2, 2013 at the Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley.
She was born in Premier, W.Va., daughter of the late Harrison and Annie Underwood Woody, and was preceded in death by four sons John Mitchell Jr., Jessie Mitchell, Homer Mitchell and Larry Dean Mitchell; four sisters, Georgia Hankins, Flossie Hicks, Dossie Hicks, and Rosie Blackley ; and four brothers Blaine, Junior, Thomas, and Jeff Woody.
Survivors include two sons; five daughters; two sisters; 38 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Dale Hendricks, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens.
