The family left Missouri and homesteaded 160 acres in Oklahoma in 1905. In 1907, Lorena's father and her 2 brothers got measles and pneumonia and within days, all 3 of them died. They are buried in Texas. Lorena's mother didn't know at the time, but she was 1 month pregnant with Lorena. She named her Lorena Wesley (her father's name)
Hawkins. In 1909 her mother married Joseph Compass who raised her.

BENTON--Mrs. Lorena Wesley Urhahn, 77 years old, of Benton, died early today, Aug. 1, 1985 in St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 14, 1907 at New Hamburg, daughter of Wesley and Anna Bollinger Hawkins.
On Oct. 26, 1926, she married Theon Peter Urhahn, who preceded her in death April 30, 1977.
She was a member of St. Denis Parish here and its Altar Society. She also was a member of the Benton Senior Citizens. Mrs. Urhahn was a lifetime area resident.
Surviving are sons Edwin "Butch" Urhahn, Cape Girardeau and Marvin "Curly" Urhahn, and Jim Urhahn, both of Benton; daughters Mrs. William (Patsy) Schlosser, Benton, and Mrs. John (Jonie) Kerby, Commerce; 1/2 Brother Theon Compass, Sikeston; 1/2 sisters Mrs. Lawrence (Edith) Schott, Detroit, Mrs. Naomi Lauck, Chaffee, and Mrs. Richard (Alma) Turpin, Houston Texas; 15 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Her parents, 1 sister, two brothers and two sons preceded her in death.
The body is at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Benton where friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 by the Guardian Angel Council.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church with the Rev. Oscar Lukefahr, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Richard, Dennis and Jimmy Joe Urhahn, Ronnie Schlosser and Jimmy Lee Backfisch.
