Born March 10, 1939, in Lowpoint to Audrey B. and Leona A. Baggs Carmichael, he married W. Carol Armstead on May 28, 1976, in Tampa, Fla. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Trivoli; and two daughters, Catherine G. Carmichael of Morton and Desiree M. Carmichael at home. His father preceded him in death.
He served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1961. He worked in the engineering department at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 23 years.
A Mason for 32 years, he was a member and past master of Lancaster Masonic Lodge 106. He was a member of York Rite Bodies in Peoria; Mohammed Temple, Shrine; and Farmington Moose Lodge 1571. He was past patron of the Philippine Chapter 413 of the Order of Eastern Star in Glasford.
He was a past member of the Legion of Honor and the Oriental Band.
He was a member of Trivoli United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Anderson Funeral Home in Farmington. The Rev. Ernstfried J. Lang will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7:30. Burial will be in Penn Ridge Cemetery, south of Trivoli.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his daughter, Desiree, at Citizens Equity Federal Credit Union in East Peoria.
