Gladys Martin Lawrence of Marshall, Arkansas died Saturday, February 02, 2013 at the age of 93. She was born May 13, 1919 to William P. Martin and Sarah Rosa Lee (Horton) Martin.

She accepted Christ as her Savior when she was 13 years old. She was a member of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She lived in Searcy County all of her life. She married the love of her life, Harry Smith Lawrence on February 2, 1937 and passed away on their 76th wedding anniversary. Harry passed away January 1, 1994. They had four children, Harry Gene Lawrence, Denva Lee Ward, Barbara Anne West and Libby Gay Rodelander. She and her husband lived on the farm where she was born and raised after he came home from the Navy. They operated a small grocery store and station in the Landis area. She was employed at Flintrock Shirt Company for almost 15 years.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two great grandsons, Joshua Vaughan and Robert Gene Vaughan.

Survivors include her children, Harry Gene (Lois) Lawrence of Salem, Denva Ward of Little Rock, Barbara (Gary) West of Marshall and Libby (Jim) Rodelander of Springfield, Missouri. Other survivors include five grandchildren: Victor (Debbie) Lawrence and Cindy Vaughan of Clinton, Debbie (Mark) Ellis of Bryant, Dr. Ronnie (Olga) West of Raleigh, North Carolina and Katrina (Jesse) Smith of Celebration, Florida. Great-grandchildren: Krystle (Todd) Harris, Jacob Lawrence, Peyton Ellis, Brooks Ellis, Liliana West and Lucia West. Step-grandchildren: Brandon Rodelander, Scott Bramlett and Danny Joe Bramlett. She is also survived by several great-great grandchildren. She leaves a lot of relatives and friends. She loved her family very much.

Services for Gladys will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 06, 2013 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with her nephew, Bro. Jake Bagby officiating. The family will receive guests from 12:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Marshall, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Vic Lawrence, Dr. Ronnie West, Mark Ellis, Jesse Smith, Jacob Lawrence and Roger Ragland.
