Bill Harrison, 85, of Greeley, passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at Fairacres Manor. He was born March 25, 1927, to Charles and Katherine Harrison in Trinidad, Colo.

Bill moved to Elbert, Colo., with his family when he was in the seventh grade and continued his education there through high school. After graduation, he served in the Navy for one year, from 1945-46, when World War II ended. After being discharged, Bill attended CSU in Fort Collins for three years, where he studied forestry. He then worked for The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad from 1950-54, before finding his real calling in retail sales. As an employee of JC Penney, Bill and his family lived in Denver, Fort Morgan, and finally Greeley in 1956. Bill worked many years selling men's clothing at Otis Brothers and Gregory Clothing Store, two of Greeley's finest menswear establishments. He had many loyal customers who followed him back to JC Penney, where he ended his retail career.

Bill loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours hiking the trails and climbing the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park with his family, as well as on his own. Closer to home, Bill enjoyed daily walks to his beloved Glenmere Park for more than 25 years.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greeley for more than 50 years.

Bill is survived by his wife, Eula, son Don, daughter, Jacqueline (Scott) Fisher and sister, Kathy Berry.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly; and brothers, Jack, Chuck, Bob and Jerry.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 1321 9th Ave., Greeley, with inurnment in Elbert.

Memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Weld County Humane Society, or First Presbyterian Church.
