Thursie Ellen Carpenter, 76 of Fall Lick Road in Lancaster, passed away, Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Christian Care Center in Lancaster, Ky. She was born Saturday, February 15, 1936 in Garrard County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Cordie Marlow Brooks. She worked at Cowdens and the National Casket Factory, enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and was a member at the Church of God. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Carpenter, brothers; Charlie Brooks, James "Buddy" Brooks, William Brooks, sisters; Loretta Chasteen, Mary Thacker, Lillie Mae Thomas, and Ada Thacker.
Survivors include her son; Mike Carpenter (Tammy) of Lancaster, Ky, daughters; Sharon Day (Wayne) of Lancaster, Ky, Connie Bolton of Lancaster, Ky, sisters; Gladys Laws of Richmond, Ky, Catherine Pingleton of Lancaster, Ky, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be 1pm, Monday, February 4, 2013 at Ramsey Funeral Home with Pastor B.J. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Carpenter, Casey Carpenter, Ashley Cornelius, Tobby Cornelius, Derrick Moberly, and Kevin Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Moberly, Angie Fox, Shakeila Moberly, Chase Fox, and Liamari Fox. Visitation will be 5-9pm, Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Ramsey Funeral Home obit.
