David A. Freeland, Sr. entered into rest after a lenghty illness on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at 3:03 p.m., at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy at the age of 57. He was the husband of Kathy A. (Snyder) Freeland, whom he married in June of 1994.

Born in Portageville, Mo. on October 3, 1954, he was the son of the late Albert W. and Velma M. (Hayes) Freeland.

He was a painter and enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a Dallas Cowboy fan. He attended Calvary Bible Church in East Prospect.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David A. Freeland, Jr. and Tony A. Snyder of Red Lion; one daughter, Katelyn A. Freeland of York; three sisters, Debbie Barbush, Barbara Durborow, and Sandy DeLisle; two brothers, Larry and Dean Freeland; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Jean Ohl.

A viewing will be held Monday, August 27th, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with his pastor, Rev. Joe L. Fauth, officiating. Family and friends can meet at Christ Chapel International Cemetery (a/k/a Locust Grove Cemetery), East Prospect Road, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for the committal service.
