Carl Joe Dyess, age 83, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Mineola. He was born on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1929, in Wood County to the late james and Dorothy Dyess. He was a foreman for Huey and Phillips Sheet Metal and a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, J.F. Dyess, Jim Bob Dyess and James R. Roberts; four sistesr, Alma O'Neal, Falma Bailey, Hazel Smith and Katie Fern Patterson; and a grandson, Carl Douglas Dyess, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Geneva Scott Dyess; a son, Carl Douglas Dyess; a daughter of Patricia Dyess Pulliam; a brother, Marcus F. Dyess; two sisters, Willie Mae Cunningham and Dottie Frances Beaird; five grandchildren, Amanda Dyess, Andera Dyess, Katherine Pulliam, Duncan Pulliam and Lauren ratliff; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Dyess will be held on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.

Funeral services will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. with the rev. Jim Parker officiating.

Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Mineola.
