ENFIELD Wanda L. Dennis, age 79, of Enfield, passed away at her home at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones. Wanda was born in Hamilton County, the seventh of 12 children born to John and Flossie (Satterfield) Lee.

Wanda attended Johnson Grade School and McLeansboro High School. She married Charles Bowman in 1952 and they had five children:

Larry Lee, Gary Eugene, Sandra Kay, Rebecca Jean and James Michael. Sandra passed away February 21, 1955 at the age of eight months. Becky passed away February 8, 1997.

Her daughter-in-law, Phyllis (Mike) Bowman passed away, June 10, 2005.

Wanda married Morris Wayne (Moe) Dennis on May 25, 1973 and they enjoyed almost 40 years of happy married life. Besides raising her family, Wanda worked at Elder Shirt Factory and later worked at various restaurants.

Through her bubbly personality, she touched many lives. Wanda enjoyed working in her lawn, her flowers, traveling, her church and church family.

She is survived by her husband, Morris; three sons, Larry (Cathy) Bowman, Gary (Toni) Bowman and Mike Bowman; son in law, Marvin Heimer; eight grandchildren, Bryan and Courtney Bowman, Alicia (Marty) Webb, Jody (Steve) Braden, Clint Bowman, Misty (Devan) Welch, Phillip (April) Bowman, Brianna Bowman; ten great grand children; five brothers, Roy (Minnie), Donald, Robert (Joyce), Doyle (Pat), and David (Karla); four sisters, Reva Phillips, Laura (Robert) Irvin, Phyllis (Obe) Bond, and Marilyn Smith; four sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Sandra and Becky, daughter-in-law Phyllis, two brothers, Emerson and John Jr., two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Congregational Christian Chapel Church in McLeansboro.

The funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, also at the church with Brother Alan Spangler and Sister Ruby McDowell officiating.

Burial will take place in Enfield Cemetery in Enfield.

Memorials are requested for Hospice of Mt. Carmel or Congregational Christian Chapel Church and will be accepted at the church or at Harre Funeral Home, which is in charge of all arrangements.
