Nathan Dortch, Jr. 53 of Pensacola, Florida transitioned into a new life with his Heavenly Father, Sunday, January 27, 2013.
Nathan retired from Armstrong Conclave through the Association of Retarted Citizens (ARC). He was also a former employee of Pollack Activity Center. Nathan loved to draw. He took great pleasure in drawing pictures for everyone he met.
Nathan is preceded in death by his biological parents, Nathan, Sr., and Frankie Lee Dortch, his adopted father, beloved Uncle Norman Elder.
Nathan is lovingly and affectionately survived by his "Mom" Dr. Laura Dortch Edler, his siblings, Barbara Dudley, Rosa Lee Hawkins, Nathalia Dortch, Step Dortch, devoted brother and sister, Michael Edler, and Debra Ann Dortch. His nieces and nephews: Tara and James Melton, Tennille Dudley, Ebony Dortch, Delatoria Edler, Willie J. Dudley, LaDawn and Anita Dortch, Delarian Dortch, Christopher Stanton, Sr, Shawaun and Alisha Dortch, Omoro Bickham, Jarius Horne, Stephen Dorch and Christopher Stanton, Jr.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, February 4, 2013 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
BENBOE FUNERAL HOME is entrusted with the arrangements. Friends may call the funeral home today from 11-2pm.
