Death of David Blanchard
    David Blanchard, an old resident of the Wyoming Valley, passed peacefully away at his home 513 North River street, at 7:30 o'clock on Sunday morning. Death was due to general debility. Deceased was 85 years of age and was born at Port Blanchard, the town being named after his grandfather, Capt Jeremiah Blanchard. He grew up in this section and was known throughout the Wyoming Valley. He well remembered when the old court house site was occupied only by a log cabin. Mr. Blanchad married in 1850 Ann Elizabeth Frick, and four children of this union survive. In 1866 he married Jennie Baird, seven children surviving, one daughter, Mrs. V. B. Howe, living in California. the other children are: Mrs. John Haston, Grace, Theodore, James B., and George of this city, Mrs. Frederick Colven of Parsons, Mrs. W. H. Wilkinson of New York City, Mrs. Dr. Templeton of Plymouth, Arthur A. and Lewis of Hazleton.
