Pfc. U.S. Army, Korean War-Pfc. McLaughlin was killed in action by small arms fire on 11-2-1950 while serving as an Infantry Recon Scout with the 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division.

He is the son of Mr. Carl N. & Mrs. Hazel Blanche McLaughlin of Warren County, Illinois, and is a 1945 graduate of the Warren County Educational System.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combay Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with One Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
