Albert was the son of Roy E. and Laura P.(Rothhass) Stern. He served in the United States Navy with the 30th Naval Construction Battalion (CB's) in the Philippines. He was the owner and operator of the former Albert E. Stern Ice Company in New Holland. He later was manager of the former Blue Ball Hotel, and employed by Victor F. Weaver in New Holland. He was a member of Saint Stephen's United Church of Christ, New Holland; member and Grand Master of Hopewell Lodge No. 405 F&A.M., Honey Brook; and member of the V.F.W. Charles Ludwig Post No. 7362, New Holland. Survivors included his wife, son, five daughters, brother, sister, 19 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
