Elizabeth Libby Lowery, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013. She was born February 13, 1912 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A graduate of Central High School in 1930, she also attended Kirkland Business School. Libby had resided Jacksonville since 1942 and was a Charter Member of Wesley Fellowship United Methodist Church and also was a member of the J. C. Penney Retirement Club. Through the years, Libby enjoyed boating with Jacksonville Outboard Club, square dancing with Bells & Bows, traveling with Methodist Road Runners, and playing cards with friends. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her daughters were her most prized possession and she was theirs, and Libby truly was a joy to all who knew her. Libby was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bob Lowery, parents Mr. And Mrs. John T. Rawlings, sister Johnnie Allen, brother Weldon Rawlings and stepdaughter Sylvia Stewart. She is survived with everlasting love and respect of her four daughters, one stepdaughter. Libby also is survived by her eight grandchildren, and also twenty four great-grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, on what would have been Libby's 101st birthday, at 3:30 PM in Wesley Fellowship United Methodist Church, 5400 N. Pearl Street, Jacksonville, FL 32208 with Rev. Gary Tarleton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the church service starting at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Darrell Taylor, Danny Jones, Toby Crews, Ryan Griffin, Scott Bryant and Doug Kowieski. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate #5) Arrangements are under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL
