Diane was born on May 29, 1952, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Ralph and Ella (Krumdick) Yelmene. She was a 1970 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On October 28, 1976, she married Dan Free in Manitowoc. Diane worked for the Thermal Fischer Hamilton Company for 35 years retiring in January of 2012 due to illness. She enjoyed traveling and dining out.
Survivors include her husband: Dan Free, Manitowoc; her three children include: Mandy Free, Two Rivers; Amy Free, Bella Vista, AR; Justin (Amy) Free, Gilbert, AZ; two grandchildren: Alexis Schad and Nicholas McCormick. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph and Ella Yelmene and one brother: Frederick Yelmene.
Diane's request was to be cremated with no formal funeral services. Her cremated remains will be buried at Branch Evergreen Cemetery. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Free family.
