DIANA LOUISE MORRISON, 59, flew away to be with her friend and savior, Jesus Christ on February 1, 2013.

There was no detail in her life that she believed to be coincidence or chance. In every moment she looked for what God may be saying or showing her.

One of her many favorite verses was: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

During one long stint at MD Anderson she looked out her window and saw a chicken hawk. She didn't wonder why it was there, she knew that God had sent that bird to sit on that ledge outside her window. It was her "eagle" sent straight from God just to remind her that she was not alone. She even took a picture so she could remind herself later.

Diana took care of everyone. As a stay at home mom most of her life, her daughters were not only the recipients, but also had front row seats to her own ministry to others.

During a mother daughter weekend at Tammy's university in Oklahoma City, Diana also attended Tammy's church. As the pastor mentioned a prayer request regarding a church member at a hospital in Houston, Diana was taking notes. She didn't just say a prayer, when she got home to Houston she just went and made sure they were doing OK in a strange town. Total strangers did not exist in her world…only children of God.

Her home, her heart, and her bank account were all open to any of God's creatures…from sick turtles and kittens to family and friends in crisis. The hardest challenge she faced in the last year was being the one receiving the care. She had nurses who cried this week, and caregivers who will say that they are the ones who were so incredibly blessed. In her darkest hours she remained a living embodiment of Christ's love for the world.

She is survived by her adoring husband Steven Morrison and two daughters: Michele Morrison and Tammy and husband John Bolander. She also leaves behind her parents Joe and Marcella Drastata, her sister Janet and her husband Bill Bliss, and her brother Doug Drastata and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 3, at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, and the funeral will be held at Pasadena First Baptist Church on Monday, February 4, at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions honoring Diana may be made to any of the following: Houston SPCA (houstonspca.org), The Leukemia Lymphoma Society (lls.org), or First Baptist Church Pasadena Building Fund (7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX 77505).
