Ira Russell passed away from this life on 14 Jan 2013 in Ridgecrest, CA. He was born in Great Falls, MT on 26 Feb 1932.
Ira moved and attended school in Trona, CA beginning in 1942. In 1951 he left school to serve his country for the United States Army and served in the Korean War with the C Company, 140th Tank Battalion.
Ira was married for 56 wonderful years to the love of his life Gwendolyn May Holland, raising their children in Trona. Ira worked at the Trona Plant and retired in 1993, at which time Ira and Gwen relocated to Ridgecrest.
Ira is survived by their four children and their families, Rod and Carlen Russell of Ohio, Theresa and Michael Maloney of Alaska, Michelle and Michael Ball of Trona and Ira and Della Russell of Ontario, CA. Ira also leaves behind a sister, June Sayre of Trona, and two brothers, David Russell of Goleta, CA and Lee Russell of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Mary Russell and two brothers, Charles and John Russell.
Ira was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
