Mary Lou Taylor Evans, 88 years old, of Rigby, passed away on January 2, 2016 at The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls surrounded by her family.
Mary Lou was born on February 23, 1927, to George Alvin and Fern Wride Taylor. She was the fourth and youngest child in the family. She grew up and attended schools in Rigby and later graduated from Rigby High School. During high school and for several years following she worked at the Reed Drug where she was a valued employee. Where she meet Mckay.
Mary Lou married McKay Evans on February 23, 1947 and had forty six years of marriage together. Mary Lou and McKay where blessed with three children, Georgia Lou, Clair, and Mary Kay. Mary Lou enjoyed taking their family camping and also loved playing parlor games, going to movies, baking, and the wonderful associations with the Rigby Veterans of Foreign Wars group. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served as a Primary teacher for many years. She was a faithful visiting teacher and visiting teaching supervisor.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughters Georgia Lou (Bob) Mousaw of Ammon, Mary Kay (Dick) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, her son Clair McKay Evans of Rigby, five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents: George and Fern Taylor, her husband McKay, 2 sisters: Helen Anderson and Lucile Maloney, and 1 brother: Max Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016, 11:00 am, at the Perry Ward Building in Ririe. The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:45am and on Wednesday January 6, 2016, 7:00-8:30pm at Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
