"Mrs. W.A. Swindle, wife of Squire Swindle, of Monroe township, died after a brief illness last Tuesday morning. Mrs. S. was a very excellent lady and will be greatly missed in the community where she resided."
NOTE: Calculating her death via the headstone, she died 7 October 1879. "Deaths and Administrations from Madison County, Indiana, 1849-1880" by Haroldyne Schultz Zook, p. 320, states she died on the 10th.
