"ROME---Frederick C. Acla, 65, of 7846 Penny Street Rd., a retired employe of the Rome Developmental Center and an active member of the Masons, died yesterday in Rome Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Acla was a member and past master of Baron Steuben Lodge 264, Lee Center. He was a member of Ziyara Temple; past monarch and treasurer of Zebra Grotto No. 4; a member of Mokanna Grotto No. 1, Hamilton and past president and chaplain of Ziyara Temple Road Patrol ... Mr. Acla had worked at the Rome Developmental Center for 10 years, retiring in 1970. He had previously worked at General Cable. He was born in Peekskill and had been a resident of Rome since 1916. He married Emma Gerber in Rome. He was a World War II Army veteran. He leaves his wife and a sister, Mrs. Edith Ruebel of Rome. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Griffin and Aldridge Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow."
