Tony was a second generation Italian American, born to Lucy and Anthony Belmont senior in New York City as the youngest of three children. At the age of 20 he married the love of his life Patricia, and they recently celebrated their 56th anniversary.
Tony worked first as an electrician, then in the lighting business for Lithonia and Westinghouse where he was responsible for lighting in the World Trade Center. In 1972 he transferred to South Florida as Westinghouse"s Southeast representative. Tony later left Westinghouse, secured his master electrician"s license and launched his own electrical contracting business.
Tony had a knack for finding unique treasures that were about to be discarded (an old clock, an antique radio, a 100 year old newspaper). He could fix just about anything. He had a unique sense of humor, and a great way with kids.
His wit, wisdom, and gourmet cooking will sorely be missed.
Tony is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Anthony and Brian; sister, Cindy; granddaughters, Shannon and Ashley; and many good friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at 9 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the St. Anastasia Cloisters.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association .
