Born February 28, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Olive (McCleod) Allspach. She was the wife of Peter J. McCabe of Gettysburg to whom she was married to for 63 years.
Mrs. McCabe was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg.
She worked for United Telephone in New Jersey for 15 years, she had previously worked at Bell Telephone.
Jane-lee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Jane-lee is survived by her six children: Peter McCabe, of Gaithersburg, MD, Patricia Kraatz of Jacksonville, FL, Jane-lee McCabe of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, Scott McCabe of Gettysburg, Daniel McCabe of Sumter, SC, Christopher McCabe of Tampa, FL; 10 grandchildren: Pete, Julie, Timothy, Katie, Scott, Ken, Dianna, Mark, Christie, Alex, five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Ralph Allspach, of Goshen, NY.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Olive Maher.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held January 28, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg with Fr. Bernardo Pistone Celebrant. Burial was January 30, 2013 in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
