Mr. Hagler was a retired coal miner and a Navy veteran of World War I. He was a 50-year member of he Masonic Lodge 498 in Murphysboro, Electra and Ruth Chapter of Eastern Star, the White Shrine, the American Legion Post 127 in Murphysboro, the VFW Post 7190 of Murphysboro and the Murphysboro Citizens. He was a Methodist.
He died at Blessing Hospital in Quincy after a brief illness.
