John was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 23, 1915, and baptized on January 2, 1916.

He was a member of the American Legion in Salmon Creek, Washington, a retired barber and steamfitter, and a resident of Vancouver, Washington since 1951.

He married Lena Mae Dalton on February 15, 1935 in St. Ignace, Michigan where they raised eight children. In 1945 he joined the Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lena, and a son John Earl Sullivan. Survived by three sons Lawrence (Louise) Sullivan of Hermiston, Oregon. Ronald (Linda) Sullivan and James (Bev)Sullivan both of Vancouver. Four Daughters Mrs. Kathy (Larry) Male, Mrs. Linda (LeRoy) Reynolds, Mrs. Carol (Dale) Atwood of Vancouver, and Mrs. Beverly (Marvin) Boyle of Ione, Oregon. Two sisters Margaret Sullivan, and Kay banks, both of Detroit, Michigan, and a dear friend Virgina Brown of Vancouver. He had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
