COLFAX, Ind. — Ronald A. Carter, 56, of Colfax, Ind., formerly of Danville, Ill., passed away at 9 a.m. EDT Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home.

Ronald was born Feb. 21, 1957, in Danville to Ronald C. and Barbara Kinney Carter. His mother, Barbara (James) Hawkins, survives of Lebanon, Ind.

He married Sherry Whorrall on March 16, 1991, in Danville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Anthony Carter and Jerry Fugate; three daughters, Amanda Burnett, Tiffany Carter and Ashley Carter; one brother, Troy Carter of Colfax, Ind.; two stepsisters, Kate (Jeff) Harvey and Jane (Lance) Hoffman; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Devyn Fugate.

Ronald was a graduate of Danville High School. He enjoyed fishing and music and had been a welder at Wabash Corp in Lafayette, Ind.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with the Rev. Kent Pitcher officiating. Burial in: Oak Hill Cemetery, Danville. Visitation: noon-2 p.m. on Saturday at Robison Chapel, Catlin.
