He attended rural grade school and graduated from Clay Center High School. He served in the US Navy. He returned to Clay County and worked as a Farmer and Dairyman. He married Karen Ingrum on June 4, 1960, she survives of the home. He was on the Clay County Rural Water Duistrict #2 board.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Wilbur Schoneweis.
Burial will be at the Idana Cemetery, Idana, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 4-8 PM Monday at the funeral home
Memorials can be made to Clay County Hospital.
