455aJane Cohn Barnett, 99, of Glenview, IL, previously of Peoria, IL until 2007, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, at 10:20 P.M., at Belmont Village, Glenview, IL.

Private graveside services will be on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Jewish Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Rabbi Lynn Goldstein will officiate. A celebration of Jane's life will take place when family members receive guests on February 3, 2013, from 1:00 P.M. until 3 P.M. in the Club House at Park Edge Condominiums, 5200 N. Knoxville, Peoria, IL. There will be no visitation at the memorial home. Memorial tributes may be made to the Chicago Botanic Gardens 1000 Lake Cook Rd, Glencoe, IL 60022, in Jane's honor. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home of Bloomington, IL has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Jane was born August 18, 1913, in Chicago, IL, Daughter of Milton M. Cohn and Elsie Mandel Cohn Isenmann. She was united in marriage to Mandel M. Barnett in 1943, he passed away 1975. Surviving are, Daughters, Barbara (Dr. Murray) Favus, Chicago, IL, Karen (Nathan) Baden, New York City, NY; Son, Brian (Kathy) Barnett, Wilmette, IL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Abby Favus, Dr. Elliot (Jennifer) Favus, Howard Baden, Matthew Baden, Amanda (Aric) Jacover, Lucy Barnett (Francisco Leyton), and Katie Barnett (Akiva Rubin); two Great-grandchildren, Sammy Leyton, and Maxine Favus. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Oscar Cohn in 2005.

Jane studied harp at the University Of Michigan School Of Music, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree of Music from Illinois Wesleyan University, in 1936. For many years Jane and her husband Mandel owned and operated Kiddie Kampus, a children's store with outlets in Sheridan Village, Peoria, Illinois and Davenport, Iowa. She worked full-time for The Illinois Department of Public Aid in Peoria as a social worker until she was 89 years old.
