Casualty of the Great War,Theodore served with "B" Coy. 3rd Battalion attached 1st Battalion,The Buffs (East Kent Regiment)-formerly of the Carabiniers.He was 27 and held the Military Cross.

His letters from the front were privately published as a book "A Year in the Salient".

His brother, Lieutenant Philip Anthony Brown
fell at Armentieres on 4th November 1915, aged 29.

He served with the 13th Bn.,Durham Light Infantry and rests at RATION FARM MILITARY CEMETERY, LA CHAPELLE-D'ARMENTIERES-Grave Reference-I. F. 5.

They were sons of Anthony and Jane Chalmers Brown, of "Broomhill," 29 Southend Rd., Beckenham, Kent.
