Michael "Mick" English was born in Ireland in Jan 1848 (based on 1900 Census). He and his wife Mary Vesey English married and raised their daughters Catherine "Kate", Margaret and Mary at the Tonatonavally Estate in the Achill District of North County Mayo, Ireland. (now known as Valley). On 21 Apr 1883 the family, plus many extended family members and neighbors immigrated from Blacksod Bay, County Mayo, Ireland aboard the Alan Lines SS Scandinavian as beneficiaries of the James H Tuke Fund and arrived in Quebec, Canada on 3 May 1883. The family then went lived in Chicago, IL before settling in the Irish Bend area of Cleveland, OH.

In the 1900 census Michael & Mary reside with their daughter Mary English Kelly's family. And their daughters and families live within a couple of blocks of the Kelly family home. Michael's grave is unmarked and he rests with his wife, Mary Veasy/ Vasey English, who died a few months after the 1900 Census. They also share their grave with their grandchild Thomas Miller, Jr. who died in 1903 at the age of 8 months. Michael and Mary Veasy English rest next to their daughter Catherine (Kate) English Miller, son-in-law, Thomas Francis Miller and Grandson, Francis Colleran (1904-1911, who is the son of daughter Margaret English Colleran & James Colleran who rest at Calvary Cemetery, Section 38, Lot 414, Grave 4). Unfortunately, all the other family members' graves are unmarked except for the grave of Mary Vesey English.

A single, worn stone that is about 8" diameter initially marked the location of Graves 1 and 2 for the English and Miller families. It was later discovered that the stone was the marker for Mary Vesey English and was much larger submerged headstone, which is now been reset. Photos show the buried headstone, the reset gravestone and a chalk rubbed gravestone which is easier to read. There is also a map that shows the locations of the gravesites.
