George Adrian Humphries, 87, Princeton Road, died at 2:58 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at his home of natural causes.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, with the Rev. Kinnith Morris and Michael Humphries officiating.

Burial will be in the Sinking Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of Christian County, he was born April 6, 1922, the son of the late Forrest Davenport and Hattie Pauline Woosley Humphries.

He was a farmer and a member of Sinking Fork Baptist Church.

He was a World War II Navy veteran.

His first wife, Violet Vincent Humphries, died in 1977. A daughter, Diane Hewell, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Kaye Simpson Humphries; a son, Andrew Humphries, Hopkinsville; three daughters, Judy Pryor, Hopkinsville, Nancy Layman, Elizabethtown, Glenda Crutcher, Herndon; two stepdaughters, Cindy McCraw and Melissa Summers, both of Hopkinsville; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Pennyroyal Hospice.
