Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 1998 at Nyssa Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nyssa, Oregon. Burial will follow in Hilltop Memorial Cemetery, Nyssa.
Services are under the direction of Nyssa's Lienkaemper Chapel.
Charles Cook Mann was born October 21, 1919 in Woods Cross, Utah, the son of George B. and Nellie Cook Mann.
He married Mary Catherine Hill, May 31, 1938. He farmed for 51 years in Apple Valley. He also served on the Parma School District and the board of directors for Western
Farms Co-op.
Charles was very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Bishop of the Nyssa 1st Ward for seven years. He also served as stake Young Mens president for 14 years. He served in the Boise, Idaho Temple for 14 years. Charles will always be remembered for his honesty with his fellow man, the love he had for his children and for his devotion to his loving wife.
He is survived by his wife, Mary H. Mann; four children: Charles Kent (Gloria) Mann, Steven H. (Susan) Mann, Marilyn Books and Cheri (Wayne) Mitchell; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Hepworth and Francis Paul; and one brother, Stanley C. Mann.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call Tuesday evening October 13, 1998 6-8 p.m. at Nyssa's Lienkaemper Chapel and Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church.
