Son of the late Arthur Louis Knoch, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth (Zimmerman).
Preceded in death by his sister Barbara.
Survived by his wife Mary Alice; daughter Kathleen (Jim) of Ann Arbor and their children Andrew and Malia; son David (Cheryl) of Kentucky and their children Daniel, Shannon and Brendan; sister Doris and brother Richard (Kathy), all of Florida.
Arthur was born in Detroit and raised in Dearborn, Michigan. He graduated from Fordson High School in 1947 and retired from Michigan Bell after 47 years of service. As a veteran of the Korean War, he served in both the Marine Corp Reserves and US Air Force. He had fond memories of his time while stationed in Alaska. Arthur wed his lovely wife Mary in 1953. They lived briefly in North Carolina, Dearborn and Wayne, Michigan before settling in Westland for the last 41 years. Arthur and Mary were married just 7 months shy of 60 years.
Arthur was a long-time Detroit Tigers fan. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. His hobbies included stamp collecting, genealogy and bowling. He was an avid reader of history with presidential history a particular favorite. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and had many fun vacations with Mary, her sister Claudia and brother-in-law Jerry.
Funeral Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, 7707 Middlebelt Rd. (at Ann Arbor Tr.)
Family will receive visitors Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
