Benjamin Hawkins, 69, entered into rest on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at VA Hospital in Lebanon. Benjamin was the widower of Diana S. (Fleming) Hawkins. He was born on July 14, 1943, in York, to the late Benjamin E. and Vica (Smallwood) Hawkins and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Benjamin leaves to cherish his memory but mourn his loss, two sons, Christopher A. Hawkins of York and Shawn R. Hawkins of Alburn, Wash.; two daughters, Rochelle L. Fleming and Kimberly A. Fleming-Sparrow, both of York; four brothers, James E. Hawkins & Joe N. Hawkins both of York, Eugene D. Hawkins of Maryland and Leonard M. Hawkins of Oakland, Calif.; six sisters, Marjorie A. Jones of New Jersey, Hazel M. King of Pittsburgh, Mable L. Dorm of York, Joyce Hawkins of Berkley, Calif., Donna K. Hawkins of Washington, D.C., and Dorthea M. Moss of North Pole, Alaska; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends. A viewing will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at New Covenant Community Church, 701 W. King St., York 17401 from 9 to 11 a.m. and a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Ramona Kinard, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. Boulding Mortuary Inc., 471 Madison Ave., York, is handling arrangements. www.bouldingmortuaryinc.com
