SERVICES WERE SATURDAY FOR HENRIETTA CHRISTENSEN

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 6th, for 74 year-old Henrietta Christensen of Blair. The service was at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Kurt Sortland officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery, and arrangements were handled by the Campbell Funeral Home.

Henrietta was born October 27, 1907, at Bennington, Nebraska, to Emil and Hattie (Dornacker) Gottsch. She attended then Dornacker and Bennington Schools. She was confirmed in the Christian faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington in 1923. She had made her home in the Blair vicinity for the past 40 years and was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

She was married to William Christensen on October 3, 1928. To this union, 3 children were born, all of whom survive her. They are Robert of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Marvin (Norma) Heise of Bennington and Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Loftus of Blair, Nebraska.

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Miss Lillie Gottsch of Bennington, Mrs. Helen Frost of Elkhorn, Mrs. Irene Clark and Mrs. Arlene Claridge, both of Hemet, California, and her brother, Fred Gottsch of Fremont, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, on February 5, 1964, and by her parents and 3 sisters, Esther, Frances and Theresa; and by 2 brothers, Herbert and Louie.

She farmed with her husband north of Blair.

She was employed at the Crowell Home at the time of her death. She was a member of several card groups, one of which she had just entertained on Monday evening.

Music was “How Great Thou Art”, by Clare Cowing, and “Old Rugged Cross”, by Melvin Misfeldt.

Mrs. Christensen was in the Food Service Department of Crowell Home.

Pallbearers were Jeff Chapman, Terry Christensen, Jerald Gottsch, Milton Nelson, Larry Gregerson, James Gottsch and Dennis Gottsch.
