Hall of Fame Hockey Manager. Born in Toronto, Canada, in July 1958, he was hired by the Toronto Maple Leafs as general manager of operations and went on to become one of the most successful Professional Hockey bench bosses of all time. Over the coarse of his career, he amassed a coaching record of 423 wins, 373 losses, 163 ties and won four Stanley Cups (1962-64, 1967). His 365 wins with the Maple Leafs are still the best in franchise history. In 1984, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. He died of a heart attack at age 69.
