Josephine R. Terry, 89, Independence, Missouri, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Independence Manor Care Center. She was born April 1, 1923 to Maude and Clarence Mason, and was the last surviving sibling of the Mason family. Better known as 'Jo' to her friends, she graduated from Weir High School in Weir, Kansas, and then went to work at Montgomery Ward in Kansas City. She married Charles D. Terry on July 2, 1943. They were married nearly 62 years prior to his death in 2005. Jo worked a variety of jobs including clerical work for the railroad, work at Lake City, the Plastics Plant, and food service for the Lone Jack School District and the Unity Village Cafeteria. She is best known for her years of being a loving and patient homemaker for her five children. She lived a full and complete life, raising her children to love the Lord and supporting her husband in his ministry in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jo enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren, traveling to the Rio Grande Valley, working puzzles, playing games, cooking for her family, and helping her husband remodel every home they had. Her greatest joy was spending time with and caring for her family, and she is well-known for telling each one, 'I love you the 'mostest!' ' She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Rick and Julie Terry, Mike and Debby Terry, Bruce and Laura Terry, Warren and Tamme Terry, and Jim and Beth Spencer; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other beloved family and friends. There will be a Visitation on Wednesday, January 30 at 10:00-11:00 a.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, 509 South Noland Road, Independence, Missouri. Directly following will be a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, 3105 South Slaughter Road, Grain Valley, Missouri.
