CARMAN L. MANCUSO

Private services will be held for Carman L. Mancuso, a retired insurance agent.

Mancuso, 73, of Fairway Drive, died Saturday (Dec. 16, 1995) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, of natural causes.

During World War II, he was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Forces. Stationed in England, he flew 24 missions over Germany as a radio operator-gunner on a B-17. He was shot down on the 24th mission and spent 13 months in the German prison camp Stalag 17. He received two Purple Hearts and four Air Medals.

He retired in 1983 after 28 years as a Prudential Insurance Co. agent. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Frances Nanula; a sister, Antoinette Whisker of Grand Island; and a brother, Thomas.
