Laura J. (Moyer) Hampton, 72, of Gilbertsville, PA, died on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, PA. She was the wife of the late William F. Hampton, who died in 2008. Born in Lyons, Berks County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Cheeseman) Moyer Grim. In earlier years, she worked as a seamstress for Springford Knitting. She was a member of many fire companies, including Philadelphia Steam Fire Engine Company #1, where she was an active member of the house committee, the ladies auxiliary and the ladies shuffleboard team. She was also a member of the Friendship Hook and Ladder Co., Boyertown, Liberty Fire Company, New Berlinville, PA and the Gilbertsville Fire Company. Laura attended the Boyertown Senior Center, where she played shuffleboard with friends and the Lower Pottsgrove Sportsman's Association.
