Betty Joyce Hilton, 84, of Beauxart Gardens, peacefully departed to live with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 27, 2013.
Born October 12, 1928 in Port Arthur, Texas to Whitney and Laura Herbert, Betty grew up in Port Arthur and graduated from St. James Catholic High School as valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she attended LSU for 2 years where she made Dean's list. She returned home and later that year married Ralph Hilton on October 17, 1947. They continued to live in Port Arthur where they raised their family; she also worked at Park Place Hospital for nineteen years. Betty had a lifelong love of music, she enjoyed traveling, site seeing, taking care of others and had a passion for rescuing dogs in need.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband Ralph J. Hilton.
She is survived by her sons, Karl Hilton and wife Kerrie and Danny Hilton; daughter, Pamela Landry and husband Chuck; grandchildren, Lindsay Grande and husband Isaiah, Jordan Landry and wife Kira, Lisa Barina and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Camden, Logan, Sloane and Marcella.
