Judy Rodgers passed away on Wednesday (August 25, 2010) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Judy was born December 17, 1944 in Charleston a daughter of Russell and Mabel (Starwalt) Strong. Her first marriage was to Robert "Butch" Gordon and from that union was born two children. She later married Allen "Barney" Rodgers on May 29, 1994 at the Mill Creek State Park in Clarksville, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2003.

She is survived by her children, Deana Phillips and husband Rick of Lerna and Douglas Gordon and wife Tracy of Janesville; her mother, Mabel VonLanken of Lerna; five grandchildren, Stacey Himes and husband Jason of Lerna, Steven Phillips and wife Willow of Des Moines, Iowa, Stephanie Gordon, Sarah Gordon and Robert Gordon, all of Janesville; two step-grandchildren, Carrie Atteberry and Keith Atteberry also of Janesville; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Himes, Aiden Himes and Jazalyn Gordon; two sisters, Diana Acord and husband Jim of Kansas, Illinois and Susie Rardin and husband Charles of Loxa, Illinois; one brother, Mike Drake and wife Rachel of Charleston; her stepmother, Maxine Roedder and husband Ken of Tuscola, Illinois; a very special friend Barb Lawyer of Janesville; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her father and her husband, Judy was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Joe Strong and Max Strong; and her stepfather, Ervin VonLanken.

Judy was an employee of Moore Business Forms in Charleston until its closing and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Toledo Chapter 231. Judy was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing. Her vegetable gardens, which were always well cared for, produced abundantly allowing her to can and preserve the fruits of her labors which she so enjoyed doing. Judy had a heart of gold and was a very giving person by nature. She made certain her family was well cared for and her memories will be treasured by the family and friends who loved her.
